SPYDER CLASS at Ted's Bike Show

There was a Colony of Spyders that met at Rothman and several were already there and several came later.

It was a very close competition between the five spyders that competed in Ted's Bike Show on Saturday, Aug. 22.

The competitors(or show offs!!) were: George Warren, Brett Denney, Harold Bost, Linda Austin, and Teresa Cloninger.

The spyders that were awarded a trophy were: Teresa Cloninger 3rd, Linda Austin 2nd and George Warren 1st.

We had a great time all day visiting, sharing stories, showing off, buying things, eating food, taking pictures and getting sunburnt!!

Great showing by all spyders!!

Spyder Ryders update--Columbia, IL to Arnold, MO

August the 15th Starting at Columbia IL 10am and ending in Arnold Mo,
We will be running down the old and new Hwy 21------It was one of the first north/south roads built by the CCC workers during the depression. So we will be passing by the site of a CCC Camp in Desoto. The CCC road builders were paid by the foot-----so every time you happened upon a big tree or rock they made a curve. You received more money than going in a straight line. That explains why all the curves. We will make a short stop at Ft Davison in Pilot Knob at the site of a civil war battle that took 1200 Confederates soldiers lives in two days. Then on to Ironton's Baylee Joe's BBQ ribs smoked over Cherry wood for lunch.
We will be going by a number of closed mining operations of interest on our way home.
So I hope you can make the run with us----and you should ask a friend it they want to ride along.
There are nice folks out there riding on two wheels that would love to ride along with rock stars.

The group decided in the last meeting that the collection of $10 annual dues would be required, to supplement the mailings and the misc items required to run the club. Helen Gryder, has volunteered to track the money collected for dues, membership cards and t-shirts. Please send $10 to support our club.

Business cards, for information to give to people (who stop us at gas stations, etc.), are in the process. They will be tell about the MidAmerica Spyder Ryders Club and its meetings, with contact information, and possibly, where to get more information. This is still in the works.

Ride Sunday, July 19 to Hardin Riverdock Restaurant. Leaving the Bird at 1pm. This ride went great!! We had eleven spyders; 14 bikes total on the road!! The weather was awesome—if it were scored from 1 to 10 it was an eleven!!

Brent Land – Ted’s Technician shared a lot of great information at our meeting. Brent described what all took place during my 12k service. Brent also shared information about a warranty bulletin on the 2008 SE5’s; and the auto shifting. Brent passed out information on “TWO BROTHERS JUICE BOX” which he had just installed on a Spyder on Tuesday. It was great to have Brent there to answer so many questions that all of us had. Thanks a lot Brent!!
